Corrections and removals

If a record on this site is wrong, tell us and we will fix it in the open

This site republishes government records exactly as the agency provided them. If the agency's record is wrong, the correction has to start there; we will note the dispute here while it is pending. If our copy, our parsing, or a derived figure is wrong, we correct it and log the change.

How to ask

Use the form. It asks for the five things Texas law asks for in a correction request (Civil Practice and Remedies Code § 73.055): the page address, the exact statement or figure you say is false, why it is false and what is accurate, the records that show the accurate version, and your name and contact. Requests that carry those five items get an answer within 30 days; most get one within a week.

What we do

• Our error (a bad parse, a mismatched name, a wrong total): corrected on the page, with a dated note at the bottom saying what changed, and an entry in the public log below. Nothing is silently overwritten.
• The agency's error: we keep the record as issued, add a "disputed" note with the requester's account, and re-pull when the agency corrects its file.
• Name collisions: if two different people have been merged, we split them and record the rule that separated them in the alias table.
• Removals: home addresses, minors' names, and records from sealed, expunged, family, juvenile, guardianship or mental-health matters are not published; if one slipped through, say so and it comes down the same day.
